Hillary Knows How To End Terrorism – Taxes!

“The percentage of taxes on GDP (in Pakistan) is among the lowest in the world… We (the United States) tax everything that moves and doesn’t move, and that’s not what we see in Pakistan.” – Hillary Clinton gloated while attempting to convince Pakistan to step up efforts to catch Al-Qaeda.

Unbelievable!  This is the problem with big government.  I guess this is why the Tea Party Movement is gaining more and more support.

If you want to stop terrorism, just tax everything and then tax it again! Hey, it works great in America. (Click pic for original news story.)

All politicians, Republican and Democrats, should take notice.  If you don’t lower taxes and restrain your spending, you will lose your jobs.  Americans want a smaller and less invasive government.

Who’s The Hater?

I keep hearing that Fox News and Talk Radio is full of sexist and racist hate speech, but the evidence always seems very weak. Occasionally there’s something politically incorrect, such as Don Imus calling the players of a womens basketball team “nappy-headed hoes” as an odd sort of complement about their toughness.  Or Rush Limbaugh saying that the media was overstating Donovan McNabb abilities because they “wanted to see a black quarterback succeed“.  Neither one of these incidents were polite and the underlying reasoning behind them is indeed questionable, so a scandal ensued.  In both cases, these guys lost their jobs – at least temporarily.

But, when there’s a real bombshell like Keith Olbermann’s recent World’s Worst segment in which he said Michele Malkin is just a “mashed-up bag of meat with lipstick on it” without the “fascistic hatred” she demonstrated by sending a polite email asking some questions about the origins of the Obama Mmm Mmm Mmm Song.  As of today, no one cares, except for a few internet bloggers, and Olbermann is in no danger of losing his job.

The double standard applied to the right and left in the news media is downright pathological.

To any of my readers that doubt the media is biased towards the left, I challenge you to find a Fox News clip where the host makes a personal attack as vile and disgusting as Keith Olbermann’s statement in this video. It’s a bit long, so you can skip to the 1:00 minute mark to get to the relevant part.

How to Lose Faith in Humanity in One Easy Step.

I’m sure by now, most of you have at least heard of the independent filmmakers that visited a Baltimore ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) office posing as a prostitute and pimp looking for assistance in purchasing a house to use as a brothel.   What  you may not know is, Baltimore’s ACORN wasn’t the only office they visited.  They’ve also released videos from Washington, DC, New York City, NY, San Bernadino, CA and San Diego, CA.

I want to show you the San Bernadino videos in a moment, because they’re incredibly appalling, but first I want to explain…

Why is this important?

(Note:  If you’re in a hurry to be appalled, skip down to the first embedded video.)

I expect that most of you don’t follow politics as closely as I do.  That’s because I think highly of you.  You are probably sane and well adjusted and so bored with the workings of our government, that you wisely ignore most of the trumped up scandals that the politicians throw at each other daily.  Unlike you, I developed an obsession with all things political about 8 years ago.  I would say it began on 9/11/2001, the moment I saw the second plane crash into the World Trade Center.  The world changed for me that moment and I couldn’t ignore the world or our government any longer.  The upside of this, is I now pathologically watch all the news and sort through the crap so you don’t have to.

Back to the point – this scandal is the real deal.  ACORN and Obama have a long history together.  ACORN sought out Obama because the were impressed with his work in Chicago’s Developing Communities Project while working on his law degree.  When he returned to Chicago they hired him as their attorney, to run a voter registration project, and to teach leadership training sessions.  Because of their deep relationship, ACORN actively campaigned for Obama on his State Senate, US Senate and Presidential bids.  In return, Obama pushed for ACORN’s interests, such as living wage and banking practices legislation in the Illinois State Senate.  Upon becoming President, Obama promised ACORN that they could help shape his agenda during his first 100 days.  Shortly thereafter, Obama moved the Census Office to the White House and announced that ACORN would have a key role with the 2010 Census.  More recently, ACORN’s partner organization, the SEIU,  send its members to intimidate and assault those who dared speak out against the proposed Health Care legislation Town Hall Meetings.

Now that it’s clear how closely ACORN is tied to Obama, lets take a look at what ACORN does:

Part I

Part II

PartIII – Sound is a bit wonky for the first minute or so.

If you think that this is just an isolated case and not a systemic problem with ACORN, check out the other videos at veritasvisuals YouTube Channel.

Special Thanks to James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles.

ACORN, youve been totally pimped!

ACORN, you've been totally pimped!

Good Luck with you’re journalism careers.  Keep up the excellent work!

Health Care Update

It seems that Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn beat me to the punch on this one.  He lays out a similar plan to the one I suggested in my earlier blog called the Patients’ Choice Act .  His figures on cost are better than the ones I collected on the internet when writing that blog entry.  Read the article yourself  HERE.

Essentially, Coburn’s plan hits upon every point I wanted from a practical health care reform plan, with one exception.  He gives every American a tax rebate in cash, whereas I would prefer that the rebate be earmarked specifically for health care costs.  This could be accomplished with either a voucher system or an individual health care account that could be drawn from for health insurance and expenses and only health insurance and expenses.

I expect that some would consider this a nanny-state addition to the bill, and I must confess that it is just that.  Normally I am against that type of legislation purely out of principle, but in this case I believe it is a practical solution to the possibility that some people would not buy health insurance with their tax credit and then later, when they cannot pay for their medical costs, blame the government for their own irresponsible actions.  Since the goal of this legislation is to assure 100% of American citizens have health insurance, such a government intrusion into your financial priorities would be justified in my opinion.

If you like Senator Coburn’s plan, or have other ideas that you think are better, consider contacting the President and your Representatives to share your opinions.  You can find the names of your Representatives by entering your ZIP code at  Congress.Org and then use the Send a Message links for each of them to write a letter using the form on the site.

Thoughts on ObamaCare

President Obama is now promising us a 9 Trillion Dollar deficit over the next decade.  Largely to pay for his government run health care program.

Assuming that, as a country, we want to have 100% health coverage for all citizens funded by the taxpayers, I have a much better solution.

Government run health care in action!

Government run health care in action!

First some background:

The July census reported the population of the USA as 304,059,724.

The average cost of Health Insurance is $1800 per year for adult individually and $4800 per year for a family.

Under Obama’s 9 Trillion Dollar plan the cost works out to $29,599.45 in debt per person. And, let me remind you, that’s only if the program comes in on budget, a rarity for any government program.

My suggestions:

1: Every American citizen is issued a voucher for up to $1800 to pay for their own individual health insurance with a privately owned company of their choice.

2: By law, all private insurance companies will be required to cover pre-existing conditions.

3:By law, all private insurance companies will be required to cover prescription drugs.

At this point, my program costs $547.3 Billion per year and $5.47 Trillion per decade.  A savings of over 2.5 Trillion Dollars vs. the Obama plan.

For further savings, consider this:

1: All seniors would be be fully covered by this for their health expenses, so Medicare, Medicaid, and all other government-based health programs would be redundant and could be dismantled. This is a savings of, at least, $847.3 Billion per year or $8.5 Trillion over a decade.

Yes.  You read that correctly.  It would be cheaper to cover every single American citizen’s health insurance payments for private insurance, than what we’re currently spending to cover just senior citizens in the government run system.

2: All veterans would also be covered, so the VA Hospital system could be dismantled.  This is a savings of $87.6 Billion per year or $876 Billion over a decade.

Other price-based savings could come from allowing customers to buy health insurance across state lines and tort reform on malpractice lawsuits and class-action lawsuits.

If you feel like taking some action

Please contact your Senators and Representatives and tell them you’d prefer a taxpayer funded private insurance solution to our health care problems, rather than a government run public insurance plan.

Bait and Switch Journalism

On Thursday February 19th the East Valley Tribune’s website (Freedom Communications Inc.) printed a story by Tim Hacker with the headline Dobson students question Obama’s plan with some skeptical quotes by Advanced Placement High School students about Obama’s stimulus package.  The story generated buzz on various conservative blogs. As of today, the website has replaced the story with a fluff piece written by Hayley Ringle while retaining the original headline.

Luckily, the Drudge Report found a cached copy of the original story and posted it HERE.  If you go to the East Valley Trib’s website, you can see how the comments match up with the original story.

Why would any newspaper do this?

Scary stuff.

UPDATE: The original story has been restored, except for the byline.  The site claims it was a technical problem.  I can’t imagine a scenario where that’s possible.  More likely it was a rogue Obamaniac that pulled the switcheroo.
